keeping it local//

August sees the inaugural Christchurch Craft 2.0 showcasing New Zealand made cool crafts. Saturday 23rd August.

The General Store is a huge advocate for keeping it kiwi and wishes them a great day. In store, the cosmopolitan range includes local NZ design and recognizes international brands and designs. Both enrich our lives. As globalization strengthens, it is vital to celebrate and support the unique perspective that locals and adopted locals have to offer in design and lifestyle products.

Keeping it green

Have you noticed the array of shopper bags out there? Sprout bags, envirosax, estring, metallics to name a few. The idea being, you carry one around with you and whip it out when a plastic bag offering is imminent at the store counter. Point is: that’s brilliant for eco reasons, but how long does it take to embed that habit?

How many of you have been to the supermarket and thought bugger left it at home from the last visit. One also wonders if it will become a style indicator, whether you are a sprout girl/boy, an envirosax or estring type! On the other hand, do you have seasonal changes? However this trend pans out it’s a bright start. We’re waiting for someone to produce some hip wheelie shopper bags, like grandma use to have.
